Addiction to familiar.
.
Human beings are interesting. We talk about change all the time, yet often we are chickens if it comes to exploring unfamiliar territories. We have a need to always ask for advice, because we are too lazy or afraid to explore on our own.
We are addicted to familiar. We are addicted to comfort. We are addicted to our old thoughts and beliefs. We are addicted to our own little cozy world.
STOP
Start thinking for yourself.
Go into unfamiliar.

I get the need to challenge yourself and explore the unfamiliar. Sometimes though I think it isn’t that we are afraid of the unfamiliar but it is that the familiar works for us because it is what is right for us and makes us happy. And if that is the case, why is there a need to change it?

Hi Nicole,
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I guess it’s a matter of balance, it always comes to balance, doesn’t it?
But if people like Copernicus or Galileo were content with familiarity people would continue to believe that the earth is flat.
There is always something refreshing in a questioning mind.

Change is difficult, it is much easier to stay with the predictable.
But as Albert Einstein once said “Madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”.
We all want more from life, question is are you mad or will you do something new?

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you’re doing well.
CHANGE IS DIFFICULT.
Having said that, time for a change:)

Short but really taking post! I like the way you write. And now you made me think about it. It is true that nobody thinks about the addiction to the familiar….And I agree that this make us afraid from the unknown and stop us from being adventurous…
